The UK has one of the highest rates of spyware infection according to recent research by security firm Webroot. The study shows that only Thailand and the United States have more infected PCs. According to Webroot almost 55 per cent of consumer Windows PCs are infected with adware which subjects users to continual pop-up adverts and can also hijack their homepage and install bookmarks.
