What are Remote Access Programs? |

These are programs that allow one computer to access another computer (or at least facilitate such access), without the explicit authorization of the end user - when an access attempt is made. Once access is gained, usually over the Internet or by direct dial access, the remote access program can then attack or alter the other computer. The program may also have the ability to gather personal information, or infect or delete files.
Not all remote access programs fall into this category - but if you were not aware of its presence then it probaly should not be there - particularly if you are a home user!
